The importance of timely treatment
The size of the aneurysm is the main factor in determining the treatment approach. Smaller aneurysms are monitored regularly through ultrasound or CT scans, a process known as watchful waiting. Larger aneurysms may require surgery.
The biggest risk of aortic aneurysm is a rupture, which can cause severe internal bleeding and is responsible for about 200,000 deaths worldwide each year. Your risk goes up the larger an aneurysm grows. We will work with you to manage your risk and provide timely treatment.
