Liposuction at Mayo Clinic is performed in a hospital setting using minimally invasive techniques. Available treatments include tumescent liposuction, a method of fat removal using fluid to improve overall results, and Vaser liposuction, an ultrasound liposuction procedure that emulsifies fat and enhances removal. Nonsurgical treatments are also available.
During your consultation, you will meet with your surgeon and the surgery team to discuss your goals and areas of concern. Your surgeon will review all options with you, such as surgical removal of skin and whether weight loss would be in your best interest prior to other procedures.
