The Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic at Mayo Clinic provides you with comprehensive evaluation and holistic assessment of your lung disease. Your care will be individualized based on your assessment and delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experts specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ILD.
Our team has deep expertise in ILD, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), chronic hypersensitive pneumonitis (farmer’s lung), familiar pulmonary fibrosis, telomere mediated lung disease, sarcoidosis, cystic lung diseases (LAM, Birt-Hogg-Dube, LCH), vasculitis, connective tissue disease-associated ILD and other undifferentiated and inflammatory ILD (COPA and VEXAS syndrome).
We work with you to create a management plan for your unique concerns and treatment goals.
Comprehensive assessment with advanced testing.
Our comprehensive evaluation includes physical examination, laboratory testing, pulmonary function tests, oxygen assessment, and high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) of the chest – all conveniently available in a single location. In selected patients, additional tests like echocardiogram, lung biopsy, PET, and cardiac MRI will be arranged if considered necessary.
We use the most advanced diagnostic tests – including telomere assessments and genetic testing – to identify causes of your interstitial lung disease. Our approach can lead to a more accurate diagnosis and management of your ILD and early identification of potential complications and hereditary risks for family members.
